Belgrado, 28 ott 15:05 – (Agenzia Nova<\/strong><\/em>) – Si \u00e8 svolto oggi a Belgrado un convegno scientifico dedicato alla ricerca medica per la terapia dei tumori nell’ambito del ciclo di incontri “Italy meets Serbia”. <\/p>\n

L’evento, ospitato presso la sede dell’Istituto italiano di cultura, \u00e8 stato promosso dall‘ambasciata italiana e dall’Associazione scienziati e studiosi di Italia e Serbia (Ais3).<\/strong><\/em> Esperti italiani e serbi hanno discusso di terapie innovative per la cura del cancro ed hanno individuato nuove aree di cooperazione bilaterale nel settore della formazione sulle tecnologie avanzate di radioterapia e nella fisica nucleare. <\/p>\n

“L’incontro di oggi \u00e8 la testimonianza concreta della straordinaria vitalit\u00e0 della cooperazione scientifica tra Italia e Serbia, che avr\u00e0 un passaggio importante il prossimo 16 novembre con la firma del nuovo Programma esecutivo dove sono individuati progetti di ricerca congiunti da realizzare nel periodo 2016-2018”,<\/em> ha dichiarato l’ambasciatore italiano in Serbia Giuseppe Manzo<\/strong> durante l’apertura dei lavori.<\/p>\n

“La medicina e la salute pubblica sono settori prioritari per la nostra cooperazione – ha aggiunto l’ambasciatore italiano Manzo<\/strong> – in particolare il trasferimento delle scoperte delle scienze di base, della fisica e della chimica, all’applicazione medica \u00e8 un tema fondamentale non solo per i nostri due Paesi”. <\/p>\n

La giornata di studio, dedicata alla ricerca traslazionale nel settore oncologico, \u00e8 stata realizzata con il supporto scientifico dell’Istituto serbo di scienze nucleari “Vinca”, dell’Istituto italiano di fisica nucleare (Infn) e del Centro di riferimento oncologico (Cro) di Aviano e ha registrato un’ampia partecipazione di autorevoli esperti provenienti da istituti clinici e di ricerca di Italia e Serbia.<\/p>\n

Speech of the Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Manzo at the Conference<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The Italian Language Week just ended last Friday . And today we are ready to re-start our common action with this meeting on translational research in the field of oncology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2022 This time we are glad to inaugurate the \u201cMonth of Italian \u2013 Serbian Scientific Cooperation<\/strong>\u201d, which will culminate with the signing of a new cooperation program<\/strong>, which identifies joint research projects to be implemented in the period 2016-2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 This is a solid evidence \u2013 the concrete scientific proof, I would say<\/strong> \u2013 of a bilateral cooperation that is going through a moment of extraordinary vitality<\/strong> . All this is well demonstrated by the success of the projects implemented by the First Executive Program<\/strong>. These are projects will be concluded by 2015 and their results will be presented next November 16th<\/strong> in an event organized by the Embassy together with the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Incidentally, in the First Executive Program we count the 3 important projects carried on by researchers of the Vinca Institute.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 And just in Vinca, last February<\/strong>, on the occasion of my visit, the idea of this meeting<\/strong> came from. It\u2019s a promise we kept<\/strong>, thanks to the work of Serbian and Italian researchers that I greet and thank for being here<\/strong>. And so I also want to express my appreciation for the active and effective role that the association AIS3<\/strong> is playing in strengthening and promoting scientific and technological cooperation between our two countries.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Medicine and Public Health are priority areas<\/strong> for our cooperation. In particular, the transfer<\/strong> of discoveries from basic sciences, physics and chemistry, to medical applications is a central issue not only for Italy and Serbia. And it’s encouraging to see gathered here in Belgrade authoritative experts from prestigious clinical and research institutions of our two countries<\/strong>, working actively on this issue.<\/p>\n

\u2022 In this regard, I wish to quote the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs<\/strong> recently addressing the conference of Italian Science Attache: \u201cWe are living in a world with no particular barriers, where there are circulation and exchange of knowledge , economies and people, we must see all this as great opportunities\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022 I wish therefore to all participants good work<\/strong> for this study day that I am convinced will contribute to make even stronger our cooperation the field of science and technology.<\/p>\n
